The main issues in Mental Health are the significant stigma and discrimination mentally ill individuals face due to lack of understanding about mental health services, limited access to quality mental health services, social exclusion and isolation, and the influence of cultural and religious beliefs that attribute mental illness to supernatural causes.
Addressing these complex challenges will require a multi-pronged approach to raise awareness, improve access to care, combat discrimination, and strengthen personal resilience in mental wellfare.
Mental Illnesses , disorders and awareness of both and their differences is highly disregarded by individuals in society. People usually don't accommodate , regard or prioritize mentally unwell individuals. Mental Health in itself is desensitized, stigmatized and deprioritized especially by caregivers, support systems, relatives and families of the mentally ill.
As a mental health advocate, i was inspired by observing first-hand how important mental health support can be, especially for young people facing all sorts of challenges.
At the moment , my education equips me with the tools to make a difference. As my expertise in areas like PTSD treatment, Addiction Counselling, CBT, DBT and MI are necessary and needed to help improve the well-being of individual's mental states.
